Ok not to be a massive nerd but those teeth reminds me a lot of Thylacoleo (extinct) which is the only animal to my knowledge that has ever evolved from (carnivore to) herbivore to carnivore
Because herbivores often don’t have canines or just small ones, Thylacoleo evolved those really unique molars to fit the same purpose!
I would be surprised if they weren’t an inspiration, actually. I think they’re really neat

Those teeth look A LOT like those of a thylacoleonid, leading me to the assumption that this ought to belong to the wombat-group (Suborder: Vombatiformes, to be technical) just like y’all.
You’re on the right way - they’re thylacoleo based! Like thylacoleos they had herbivore ancestors that adapted to a carnivore diet. They’re distant relatives to marsupials but they’ve got some stuff going on that would put them in another metatherian infraclass, namely they’re all hermaphroditic. I actually wonder if this would make them something other than metatherian, but hermaphroditism aside they’re very much like marsupials, so I guess it’d still count? 🤔

edit: thanks everybody for the suggestions!! I could find one that… kinda does the job? and it seems the problem persists and reblog/like buttons still dont work in permalinks… maybe this is something related to having a custom domain rather than a theme issue. F to that theme because it was so good and i’d need to update some chunks of code to use it again. At least this new one has embedded likes/reblogs in the posts so yall can safely like or regrog stuff from my site now
